 Welcome Visitors

Here in downtown Green Bay stands a historic church, expressing the fine skills, love and sacrificing faith of more than eight generations.  Since 1842, the St. Willebrord Church has guided travelers home and bid a warm welcome to all visitors.  The present church was built in 1891. Our faith community has a proud tradition of service to its community. The watchwords here are “Open Doors – Open Hearts.”  St. Willebrord ministers to a congregation of incredible talents, enthusiasm and cultural diversity.  Over the past decade, we have especially embraced this area’s Hispanic community.

For a long time, we had struggled with severe space limitations for religious education, parish meetings and special events.  The former convent had been our only facility in which to carry on these vital ministries to all God’s people.  Time and heavy use had taken their toll on this structure.

Please pray for the success of our construction project.  If you can also help financially, we will be most appreciative.  When you return here again, may you'll be as proud of the recent builders as you are of the earlier ones.

Your St. Willebrord Friends in Christ

Visitors and seekers, you are most welcome here.  You are faith-filled friends in Christ.

Ground Breaking - If you missed it, check it out in Windows Media format on our web site below.

Local dignitaries were on hand.  We celebrated our progress, blessed the building site, we had a ceremonial “first spade of ground turned”, and we had music and refreshments.  Numerous shovels were available so everyone who wanted to turn a spade of dirt with one of our special “gold shovels” could do so.
