Spanish Faith Formation Classes
ALL CLASSES: during the school year the children attend the First Friday Communion Service that is held at 7:00pm. The families also bring food for the parish food pantry.
Kindergarten- In this grade children see that God created all things, that his love was so great that He created us to be equal to him. And that helps us to love our family and friends. Parents must teach the following prayers: Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, and the Angel of God.
We accept children 5 and 6 years of age for this program.
1st grade- In this grade children learn about the Church and what happens during the celebration of the Mass. They learn that God is loving and creates wonders all around them. They also learn more about the Son of God who is Jesus. Finally, they learn about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that we are now known the followers of Jesus in the celebration of Pentecost.
Parents should teach them the following prayers: Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, and the Angel of God, and the Sorrowful Mother.
We accept children 7 and 8 years old for this program.
Please notice that the children must spend 2 years in preparation before making their First Communion.
2nd grade- A child learns we can choose what is good if we get closer to God. We also see that Jesus saves us from sin. Children learn to praise and thank God always asking for forgiveness. At this level they delve into the commandments that they can distinguish between a sin or an error. They learn the way to go to confession and learn more about the Eucharist that can receive by the body and blood of Christ in First Communion.
In this grade parents must have teach the following prayers: Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, and the Angel of God, the Sorrowful Mother prayer, the Act of Contrition and the Creed . They also must know the sacraments and commandments.
We accept children of: 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 years of age in this program.
3rd grade- At this level the children learn about everything related to the Church; that is One, Holy and Apostolic. They also learn more about each Sacrament. They are encouraged to participate more in the Mass. At this level children understand that the Holy Spirit guides us to form Church, and Jesus He forgives us. They also learn that the Catholic Church is open to all and that the Church continues the Mission of the Apostles. They go to confess occasionally throughout the year. Parents are asked to continue with all of the prayers that the children should have learned.
We accept all children who have already received their First Communion.
4th grade- At this level, children come to better understand the commandments and how they relate to the Kingdom of God, as well as learning more about how to act according to the will of God. They learn that they must pray for forgiveness and carry the message of God to those around them, sharing their faith and being part of various ministries. They go to confession occasionally throughout the year.
We accept all children who have already received their First Communion.
5th grade- These children are already part of a Ministry in the Children’s Masses on the third Sunday of each month throughout the school year. They undertake ministries with their parents. This is known as the Sacramentales. They continue to learn more about the meaning of the various sacraments. They undertake service projects as a group such as shelter meals and visiting the nursing homes. . Help in events like the inns, the day of the child and maneuvers to others groups. They go to confession occasionally throughout the year.
We accept all children who have already received their First Communion.
6th grade- During the 2010-2011 we will begin a course for children who have finished the fifth grade curriculum. This course is still under development.
The faith formation classes are:
Friday from 5: 30 pm to 7: 00 pm
Saturday from 9: 00 am to 10: 30 am
Classes are in the Fr Ken DeGroot Community Center
If you wish to register their children in religious education classes you must sign up during the month of June. The children are individual screened as part of the sign-up process.
To enroll your child should contact Ms. Alma Vázquez by calling # 435-2016 (the parish office).
Remember that the sign-ups are in the month of June.
Clases de formación Cristiana para niños en español.
KG.- En este grado los niños ven como Dios creó todas las cosas, que su amor fue tan grande que nos creó igual a El. Y que nos ayuda a amar a nuestra familia y amigos. Sus padres deben de enseñarles las siguientes oraciones: Persignarse, Padre Nuestro, Ave María, Gloria y Ángel de la Guarda.
Aceptamos niño(a)s de 5 y 6 años de edad.
1er grado- En este grado los niños aprenden que pertenecen a la iglesia, ahora saben lo que ven, oyen y hacen en la misa; conocen que Dios es amoroso y crea maravillas; en este grado conocen mejor al hijo de Dios que es Jesús. Ahora conocen el don del Espíritu Santo y que nosotros somos los seguidores de Jesús en la celebración de Pentecostés.
Sus padres deben de enseñarles las siguientes oraciones: Persignarse, Padre Nuestro, Ave María, Gloria y Ángel de la Guarda, Oh Señora mía, Dulce Madre, Salve y los Sacramentos.
Aceptamos niño(a)s de 7 y 8 años.
Hay que tomar en cuenta que se requieren 2 años de preparación antes de hacer su primera comunión.
2do grado- Los niño(a)s aprenden que podemos elegir lo que es bueno si nos acercamos a Dios. También vemos que Jesús nos salva del pecado y que nos da el Espíritu Santo, que alabamos y agradecemos a Dios pidiéndole perdón siempre. Se profundiza en los mandamientos para que ellos puedan distinguir entre un pecado o un error. Conocen la manera de ir a confesarse y a conocer todo sobre la eucaristía para que puedan recibir por primera vez el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo.
En este grado los padres deben de enseñarles las siguientes oraciones: Persignarse, Padre Nuestro, Ave María, Gloria y Ángel de la Guarda, Oh Señora mía, Dulce Madre, Salve, Sacramentos, Mandamientos, Acto de Contrición y el Credo.
Aceptamos niños de: 8, 9, 10, 11 y 12 años de edad.
3er grado- Aquí se ve todo lo relacionado a la iglesia, en que la iglesia es una, santa y apostólica. Además se profundiza un poco en cada sacramento para poder participar mas en la eucaristía. En este nivel los niños entienden que el Espíritu Santo nos guía para formar una iglesia y que Jesús nos perdona y cura. Que somos católicos abiertos a todos y que la iglesia continúa la misión de los apóstoles. Ellos van a confesarse cuando menos una vez al mes. Continúan con sus oraciones que en su casa sus padres les han enseñado.
Se aceptan: todos los niño(a)s que acaben de recibir su Primera Comunión.
4to grado- En este grado, los niños ven a fondo los mandamientos y sobre el Reino de Dios, así como también obrar según su voluntad. Saben que necesitamos rezar por el perdón y llevar el mensaje de Dios al mundo compartiendo y enseñando los ministerios en los que pueden participar. Ellos van a confesarse cuando menos una vez al mes.
Se aceptan niños de todas las edades que ya hayan recibido su primera comunión.
5to grado- Estos niños ya forman parte de un ministerio en la celebración de la misa el tercer domingo de cada mes. Se comprometen con sus padres a servir en un ministerio dominical. Conocen a fondo los Sacramentales, el credo, el padre nuestro. Los sacramentos son parte fundamental en este grado al conocer a fondo su significado. Ayudan en los eventos como las posadas, el día del niño y maniobras para los demás grupos. Ellos van a confesarse cuando menos una vez al mes.
Se aceptan niños de todas las edades que ya hayan recibido su primera comunión.
6to grado- En el curso 2010-2011 tendremos un curso para los niños que terminaron quinto grado con el fin de prepararlos para ser parte de los catequistas u otro ministerio.
Las clases de catecismo son:
Viernes de 5:30pm a 7:00pm
Sábados de 9:00am a 10:30am
Las clases son en el Centro Comunitario Padre Ken
Es tradición hispana asistir a la misa de viernes primero. Es por eso que se continúa invitando a todos los niños y papás para que asistan al Primer Viernes de cada mes a la celebración de la palabra impartida a las 7:00pm y continuar con una tradición.
Si usted desea inscribir a sus hijos en las clases de Educación Religiosa debe inscribirlos durante el mes de Junio y su hijo(s) debe realizar un examen el último fin de semana de ese mes.
Para inscribir a su hijo debe comunicarse con la Sra. Alma Vázquez o bien llamarla al # 920-435-2016 de nuestra parroquia.
Recuerde que las inscripciones son en el mes de JUNIO.
