Sr Melanie Maczka, SSCBob Nooker

Hello!! My name is Bob Nooker and I am very happy to be writing this information for the good people of St. Willebrord Parish! I hope after reading this you will have the idea that I enjoy my ministry as a permanent deacon and that I am happy to serve at St. Willebrord.

I am originally from Two Rivers (notice that in writing it is two words, but when speaking it would be pronounced “Trivers”!) My parents Gordon and Emma are still living and I have five brothers, all who live in Northeast Wisconsin. I also have two grown children Geoff(age 22) and Rachel(age 20).

I have worked for over 20 years for the Church, serving in many different roles. I began work in the early eighties in youth/young adult retreat ministry then moved into religious education administration, then adult education and now pastoral ministry. I have educational degrees from Silver Lake College and St. Norbert College as well as pastoral ministry training from the Diocese of Green Bay.

I was ordained a permanent deacon in May of 1998 by then Bishop Robert Banks at St. Francis Cathedral. After ordination I continued to serve at St. Agnes Parish in Green Bay. I currently serve as President of the Brown County Jail Ministries, Inc Board of Directors, volunteer at the Jail as a chaplain. My parish assignment by Bishop Zubik is to St. Willebrord. At St. Willebrord I help with the religious education program, assist with Masses and baptisms, visit the sick and parish members in nursing homes. I also am involved in learning the Spanish language at the Literacy Council in preparation for my February 2008 Mission trip to the Honduras and service to St. Willebrord Parish!

Currently I am employed full-time as a chaplain with Unity Hospice in Northeast Wisconsin. This work keeps me busy and I have a deep sense of fulfillment ministering to the terminally ill and their families.

I hope this gives you a sense of who I am and who I hope to be! Feel free to stop me anytime to introduce yourself and tell me about you!
