 Sr Melanie
Maczka, SSC
Sister Melanie came to St. Willebrord almost before
Abraham. She is in her 26th year with us. Father
Ambrose Peeters invited her to come on a very
limited basis 24 years ago while she was working for the diocese. Then
in 1981 she began working for us full time. Sister Melanie is a member of the religious order Society
of Sisters for the Church. It is an order of fairly recent origin and
was founded in New Jersey. She comes from a family of five children
with her siblings scattered throughout the country. Her brother John
lives in California, brother Wally lives in North Carolina and sisters Joan
and Bernie live in Virginia. Although she was born and grew up in
Chicago there are only a couple of nephews that still live there.

During her time with us
Sr. Melanie has worked in just
about every area of ministry. Presently she works with the English
speaking people in the areas of liturgy, RCIA, as well as a variety of areas
with the Spanish speaking people. One can usually find her on the scene
of most of the activities that occur in our parish. She also conducts
wake services, communion services and other services when needed. She
works tirelessly for the people of our community and is loved and respected
not only by the members of our parish but by many in the Green Bay community
as well.

Hermana Melanie viene a St. Willebrord casi
antes de Abraham. Ella está con nosotros desde hace 24 años. El padre Ambrose Peeters la invitó
mientras ella estaba trabajando en la diócesis. Entonces en 1981 empezó a
trabajar con nosotros de tiempo completo. Ella es miembro de religiosas de la
orden Hermanas de la Sociedad para la Iglesia. Es una orden de fe
originada y fundada en Nueva Jersey. Ella
viene de una familia de 5 hermanos y hermanas quienes viven en diferentes
partes del país. John vive en California, Wally vive en North Carolina y
sus dos hermanas Joan y Bernie viven en
Virginia. Sin embargo ella ha nacido y crecido en Chicago ahí se encuentran
unos sobrinos.
Durante su tiempo con nosotros la
hermana Melanie
ha trabajado en muchas áreas del ministerio. Recientemente ella trabaja con
los Americanos en las áreas de: liturgia, RICA,
servicios de funerales y de comunión así como con los hispanos. Usualmente
podemos encontrarla en la mayoría de las actividades que tenemos en nuestra
iglesia. Ella trabaja incansablemente para la gente de nuestra comunidad y es
querida y respetada no solamente por los miembros de nuestra parroquia sino
por toda nuestra comunidad.
