Children’s Liturgy of the Word
This is an opportunity for little children who are brought to Mass to hear the message of Jesus in simpler language. When we have a team of volunteers this ministry is provided at the 9:00am English Mass and the 10:45am or 12:30pm Spanish Masses.
• Children’s Catechist...Usually two or three persons prepare activities for children based on the Scripture readings for the appropriate Sunday. They and the children (usually ages 5-7) are called forward for a blessing before the readings are proclaimed at Mass, and leave to experience these readings in another location. Materials are provided for the catechists and children. Parents come for their children at the end of Mass.
Spanish Children Mass
During September to May the 10:45 Mass on the third Sunday of the month is a children’s Mass.
In this Mass, children who are in 5th grade participate in liturgical ministries such as readers, singers, or ushers.
All children who attend classes of Catechism are given extra motivation to participate in this Mass by being given special tickets. The more tickets they have the more fun they will have at the Children’s Day festival held the last week of April. These tickets are delivered by the catechists at the end of the Mass.
Besides having appropriate children’s Mass music, the priest celebrating offers his homily for children who are invited to sit on benches in front of the Church.
Youth Ministry Mass
On the fourth Sunday of each month, at the 12:30pm Mass, members of the Spanish Youth Group assume the ministries of the Mass: lectors, commentators, altar ministers, and ushers. (If any are commissioned as Eucharistic ministers they may also serve in this manner)
Misa de niños en español.
Durante el programa de Septiembre a Mayo contamos con misa para niños el tercer domingo de cada mes en la misa de 10:45am
En esa misa los niños de 5to grado participan en algún ministerio como: lectores, colecta, y ofrendas.
Todos los niños que asisten a clases de catecismo se les motivan con un boletito de asistencia. Entre mas tengas boletitos mas pueden participar en el festival del día del niño que se celebra la última semana del mes de abril. Esos boletitos son entregados por los catequistas al final de la misa.
El sacerdote celebrante ofrece su homilía para los niños quienes se sientan en las bancas de delante de la iglesia.
