Blessing by the parents
(or those presenting the bride or groom)
- A sign of the cross is made on the forehad of the "Novio" or "Novia" before presenting them to their partner, as a loving sign asking God's protection for each of them.

Arras - Thirteen coins presented by the groom to the bride as a sign of their mutual care to provide for the needs of their family (one for each month of the year, and one extra so that there may never be anything lacking)

Flowers - (usually roses) are placed before the statue of Mary by the couple as they pray for her maternal protection over them and their family

Lazo - a large linked rosary placed over the heads and onto the shoulders of the two--symbolic of the protection of Mary. It is also a reminder to the couple that they are committed to each other and they are to do all things together.
