Reconciliation

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Bless me Father for I have sinned, my
last Confession was ______ ago. These
are my sins. [Confess sins here]

Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry
for having offended thee,
and I detest all my sins
because of thy just punishment,
but most of all because they
offend thee, my God
who art all good and deserving
of all my love. I firmly resolve
with the help of thy grace
to sin no more and to
avoid the near occasion of sin.
Amen.

El bautismo es más importante para los padres y padrinos.

Reconciliation/Reconciliacion
Reconciliation is part of the religious education program.  See this link for details.

First Communion
First Communion is normally celebrated by children in the second grade.  Preparation is done during first and second grade religious education classes.  There are also meetings with the communicant’s parents.  A retreat for the first communicants is normally done in late April, and the sacrament itself celebrated in early May.  For more information please contact Rita Bauldry in the parish office.

Confirmation
Confirmation for our youth is normally celebrated during their junior year in high school, assuming that religious education classes have been attended in previous years.  The parish celebrates the only bi-lingual confirmation liturgy in the Diocese.  There are meetings with confirmation candidates and their parents, as well as candidates and their sponsors.  There are also classes that are held for several weeks before the celebration as final preparations for the sacrament are made.   f you are not confirmed and beyond your junior year in High school, please contact Rita in the parish office.

Confirmation for our adults can be done one of two ways.  If you have been away and uninvolved with the church, you may want to consider RCIA preparations as they can help you to rededicate yourself to the church.  Otherwise, adult confirmation classes are held in the parish for several weeks before the celebration.  For additional information and the current schedule contact Rita in the parish office.

Matrimony
See link for details on our program!  Note that no weddings can be scheduled without first meeting with Fr Ken.

Anointing of the Sick
If you are anticipating surgery or are suffering an illness and desire prayers, please request the sacrament at the parish office.  We will help to make arrangements for reception of the sacrament.

R.C.I.A
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.  This program is meant for a youth or adult who has not been baptized, confirmed or received first communion, or is thinking of becoming Catholic.  Classes in RCIA run for several months, and culminate with the reception of the sacraments at the Easter Vigil.  Anyone with questions about the program, or are interested in either being a part of the program or in volunteering to help in the program are asked to call Sr Melanie in the parish office.

Reconciliacion

En el Nombre del Padre, del Hijo
Y del Espíritu Santo. Amén.

Bendígame, Padre, porque he pecado,
Mi última confesión fue hace ….
Éstos son mis pecados: (confesión aquí)

Acto de Contrición:
Oh, Dios mío, me arrepiento de corazón
Por haberte ofendido,
Y detesto todos mis pecados
Por su justo castigo,
Pero más que nada porque
Te ofenden a ti, mi Dios,
Que eres todo bondad y
Mereces todo mi amor.
Resuelvo firmemente
Con la ayuda de tu gracia
No pecar más y evitar
Toda ocasión próxima de pecado
Amén.
