St Willebrord also has their own traditions.  In addition to the Mass for Mothers day, several gift items that were donated by the community business' were handed out at the Spanish Mass.  This tradition is a way for parish members to thank their Mothers for the past year and their life time of dedication. Father Ken DeGroot speaking on Mothers day 2003 In Mexico, this day is a day of honor.  You will here serenade's, there are festivals at schools and in some cases companies will provide this as a day off work to spend it with your mother.

Mothers Day @ St Willebrords is a Wonderful Tradition! There were many flowers brought to the alter dedicated to the Jesus' mother.  The baskets sitting on the floor contain small rose pins that were distributed as a special thanks to each of the Mom's present at the Mass.  On this day in Mexico, many people visit the Shrine of Guadalupe where there are Mariachi's singing.
