Stations of the Cross “Crossing The Desert” This Week Begins The Lenten Season! LARGE GROUP PRESENTATIONS Our parish will be offering four large group presentations. On four successive Saturdays, from 2-4pm, we will have speakers in the parish hall. So mark your calendars for March 11, 18, 25, and April 22. March 11—Fr Brendan McKeough: “Preferential Option For The Poor” March 18—Fr Ken, Sr Melanie, Luis: “A Mexican Experience Of Faith” March 25—Tana Koss, NEW Community Shelter: “Poverty In Green Bay” And – after “Crossing the Desert” – it will be time to “Celebrate At The Oasis” on April 22—Gathering and sharing simple food and faith There is no cost to attend any of these sessions. You are encouraged to attend them all—they will be wonderful! FAITH SHARING GROUPS Two different small faith-sharing groups will be offered. One will be on Tuesday evenings, the other on Saturday afternoons. The focus this year is on spiritual growth through growing awareness of the needs of those around us whose life struggles are great. The focus for the faith sharing groups will be four themes: Option for the Poor, Immigration, Welfare Reform and the Death Penalty. The materials contain quotes from Scripture, the Pope and bishops. If you are interested in being a member of such a group, there will be sign-up sheets in the gathering space, the sacristy and the parish office—but please indicate your interest this weekend. Dates and times: Tuesday evenings, March 7, 14, 21 and 28, 6:00pm—7:30pm Saturday afternoons, March 11, 18, 25, and April 1, time not yet set STATIONS OF THE CROSS Stations of the cross will be held in English on Wednesdays at 7:00pm (March 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5). Stations of the cross will be held in Spanish on Fridays at 6:00pm (March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, and April 7). SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION You are encouraged to add to your prayer life this Lent through the power of the sacrament of reconciliation. It is available: Monday—Friday, from 6:30-6:45, 7:45-8:00, and 11:30-12:00 Saturday, from 6:30-6:45 and 7:45-8:00 Parish penance service: Wednesday, April 12, 6:30pm (service with opportunity for individual confessions) Coming This Lenten Season!
